Professional Summary
David D. Briske is Regents Professor Emeritus in the Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology at Texas A&M University. Professor Briske’s teaching program promoted ecological literacy to prepare the next generation of leaders to navigate the challenging environmental issues of our time. He served as Editor-in-Chief of ‘Rangeland Ecology & Management’, academic coordinator of the USDA ‘Conservation Effects Assessment Project’ (CEAP), and editor of the volumes ‘Conservation Benefits of Rangeland Practices’ (USDA 2011) and ‘Rangeland Systems: Processes, Management and Challenges’ (Springer 2017). His research and scholarship focused on the ecological function, management strategies, and stewardship of global rangelands. He is currently a participant in the Global Alliance promoting the United Nations designated ‘International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists – 2026.
