Undergraduate Studies
Undergraduate Studies offers a wide variety of programs and services to help undergraduates reach their full academic potential, enrich their educational programs with deep and purposeful learning experiences, and gain the skills needed to continue professional development throughout their careers.
Texas A&M Student Senate
Founded in 1947, the Student Senate is the representative voice of the student body. Functioning as the legislative branch of Student Government, the Senate works to identify and advocate student opinion on issues affecting the Aggie Experience to faculty, administration, governmental bodies, and other student organizations. It is comprised of 76 Student Senators with nine Officers, several additional committee members, and is always open to any student to voice their concerns.
University Writing Center
The University Writing Center, a unit of Undergraduate Studies, supports writing and public speaking for every Texas A&M student, with particular emphasis on supporting Writing and Communication courses to help undergraduate students practice the habits of mature composers of written and oral communication.

Graduate Students
Office of Graduate and Professional Studies
OGAPS serves Texas A&M graduate students as an advocate for their graduate education and houses the Ombudsperson for Graduate Education. This office:establishes procedures to guarantee the highest quality educational experience at the graduate level; fosters and facilitates interdisciplinary and intercollegiate graduate programs and research activities; and strives to maintain and enhance an environment conducive to creative scholarship and scientific inquiry.

University Writing Center
The University Writing Center offers additional services for graduate students to help them with scientific and technical scholarship, such as journal articles, thesis and dissertations and provides resources for Graduate Assistant Teachers to help them integrate best writing and oral communication pedagogy into courses across the disciplines and in the core curriculum.
Dissertation Writing Retreat
Provide students with a productive environment for completing a thesis or dissertation. Retreats are four-day events held three times a year, usually in mid-May, late August, and mid-January. Registration is limited to graduate students actively writing theses/dissertations.
Graduate Student Workshops
General workshops to help address important topics including writing abstracts, academic integrity, research posters, managing deadlines, and proofreading.
Writing Consultants & D.A.T.A
Consultants focus on individualized needs and specific documents and on building writing skills and fostering professional writing habits. Provide tips on overcoming anxiety, procrastination, writer’s block, and writing confidence.
POWER
Help with academic writing by presenting, modeling, and helping practice theory-based writing management strategies. Offer a basic studio (discuss theory and practices) and advanced studios (tailored to participants’ needs). POWER also offers one-hour free POWER writing consultations with their writing consultants.
Center for Teaching Excellence
The Center for Teaching Excellence at Texas A&M University provides learning opportunities and professional development for faculty, staff, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. Through face-to-face consultations, curriculum design/redesign, graduate teaching assistant training and professional development workshops, the center provides educators with the tools necessary to make an impact on the students they teach.
Academy for Future Faculty (AFF)
Assists students and post-docs with the teaching components of their career preparation. Provide broader benefits applicable to all graduate students and post-docs, whether currently teaching or preparing for teaching in the future.
Graduate Teaching Consultant Program
Supports the professional development in teaching graduate students and includes opportunities that support enhanced teaching experience.
Evans Library
Provide a variety of resources including workshops and subject-specific librarians available for consultations. Evans Library also offers paper maps and digital geospatial resources and services. Geographic information systems (GIS) collect, manage, analyze, and visualize spatial information and offer free student copies of ArcGIS for personal computers. Workshops and one-on-one consultations are available.
Career Center
The Career Center provides graduate students with career exploration assistance, networking opportunities and assistance drafting resumes, cover letters and guidance for curriculum vitae development.

Open Access Labs (Student Computing Center, Library)
- There are reports of posters up to 48″ wide being able to be printed in the Student Computing Center, but this has not been verified.

Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections Scientific Poster Printing Services
- Can print up to 48″ wide (maybe wider – info is spotty on website)
- $40 for 48″ x 36″
- $5/square foot for all other sizes ($45 for 36″ x 36″ poster)
- must submit poster five working days in advance
- Can print items up to 42″ wide.
- Prices vary depending on printer used, but a typical charge appears to be $1.00/square foot plus set up charge (~$20 for a 36″ x 36″ poster).
School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences
- Can print up to 60″ wide
- $4.25/square foot (~$38.25 for a 36″ x 36″ poster
